The supply of running older used tower trailers at auction continues to be good so I keep adding new ones. Several of the older or non conforming ones were sold. I am trying to standardize. Every one is 30′ now and diesel. The concept is to generally deploy with pairs of similar looking diesels. So N+1 redundancy. Except ONB, which has a quieted down Dual Fuel generator with the Chinese/Indian scooter muffler mod.
There is a strong use case for lots of on board rack space for repeaters and compute power. The newest load out is Jitsi- for open source video conferencing. Peter says Jitsi needs SSL and DNS.
The newest power challenge is a need for 50A 120V AC RV support. 7/30/21- This got sorted by the purchase of “Vin” our 15KW diesel generator trailer.
12/30/21: We sold ONB. The current fleet is four of the 30′ class 6KW diesels. And Vin the big genset and the Dawg House video/comms trailer. Tango Xray has our repeater. Prices are creeping up a little at the auctions.
